BREEDING SCHEDULE

We know there are many breeders out there and we are very happy that your here to learn all about Golden Acres and our love of what we offer. There’s a lot to read here, but if you take the time it will answer many of your questions.

Purely F1 & F1b Goldendoodles and AKC Golden Retrievers is what you will find here at Golden Acres. My name is Linda and I decided some time ago to concentrate on primarily AKC Golden Retrievers plus F1 and F1B Goldendoodles. They are my favorites. Their sizes can range from low 20’s to some slightly over 40 lbs. I have found that the typical beauty and temperament is best when you have first generation (Golden Retriever bred with Poodle) or F1b (Goldendoodle bred with Poodle). I no longer breed multi generational or double doodles. I do not classify Goldendoodles by various marketing names like mini, micro mini, or petite mini, or Just miniature, because everyone has a different opinion on what that means. Honestly, it’s generally the average weight of the parents weight. The AKC does not use weight as a deciding factor between Toy, Miniature and Standard Poodles. It strictly by height. So I find it unimportant to classify by weight. If you are looking for an F1 First generation the litter will be a mix from small to medium size.

Not all breeders are alike. You can be assured of the best experience in reserving a Golden Acres puppy and knowing the care your puppy will receive until the day he/she goes home with you is premier. This is not a farm or barn.... but a loving family home environment. After 24 years of families just like you coming to Golden Acres you can be certain you are at the right place. It’s always a joy when new families tell me that they heard such good things from referral family or friends.

Sincerely, Linda

My name is Linda and I welcome you to read our story.  Love of Golden Retrievers is where it all began.  I also grew up with Miniature Poodles and a Saint Bernard :)  …. and so the story begins.

Our GOLDEN RETRIEVER Story

We are located in beautiful Spokane, Washington where our dogs can run and play all year round. Of course sometimes in the snow! We are NOT a kennel, all of our dogs live as family members in our home or with their loving guardian families. Our puppies are born in our home and stay in our home until they go to yours. They are never put out into another building, barn, or basement area to live. This is the best way to raise a puppy as they are then ready for the move to your home.

Golden Acres is a dedicated Home breeder of top quality AKC Golden Retrievers for over 24+ years and Goldendoodle puppies for over 12+ years. We health test all our dogs.

The LOVE of Golden's is why we are here. Seven generations ago in 1994 Golden Acres started with AKC Golden Retrievers. Our breeding schedule on Golden Retrievers is limited so please be sure to check with me on what the timeline is.

Our GOLDENDOODLE Story

Golden's have always been our passion and that has only expanded by our love of Goldendoodles!.

We choose to only breed from our own Golden Retriever lines and cream or apricot color poodles to give us that "Light Gold" tint so becoming of a GOLDENDOODLE. We're sure your here for the same reason! We love the temperament and wonderful coats they give us. Goldendoodles are an active breed coming from both parents with hunting backgrounds. They are a smart breed and your attention to training will allow your puppy to reap the benefits. You must also be knowledgeable on proper grooming to keep their coats in optimal condition. If you are familiar with a Goldendoodles you’ll know that their needs for grooming are above average in time and effort. The benefits are great but you don’t want to slack off or you have lots to make up.

OUR GOLDENDOODLES STORY Cont’d.
If your love of Golden Retrievers brought you here for a Goldendoodle then I know that you have that deep down love of and understanding of what the Golden Retriever and a Poodle is all about. We started out with Golden Retrievers in our life over 20+ years ago. The pedigrees of our Goldens date back 7 generations, so we know a lot about their ancestors. Their wonderful temperament and beautiful coats have helped make for the most beautiful GOLDENDOODLES around. My early childhood we had a Miniature Poodle and I leaned then how smart and family orientated poodles are, in addition to the NON-SHEDDING! So it's no wonder that you get a very family friendly, intelligent, active dog with a beautiful soft shaggy coat (that's low to non shedding) companion for many wonderful years.
The sizes vary in each litter vary from the parents and can be around 20-40+ lbs. Medium or Miniature.

We primarily breed:
  • F1 Medium/Miniature Goldendoodles. Average about 20-40+ lbs. Golden Retriever bred with Miniature Poodle
  • F1B Miniature Goldendoodles. 17-33lbs average F1 Goldenoodle bred with Miniature Poodle.
  • AKC Golden Retrievers. AKC Breed Standard
  • AKC Miniature Poodles at stud.

FIRST THING TO KNOW IS THAT GOLDENDOODLES DO NOT ALL COME OUT THE SAME. THE PUPPIES FROM THE SAME LITTER CAN ALL BE DIFFERENT TO VARYING DEGREES.

F1 first generation Goldendoodle pups are 50% Poodle and 50% Golden Retriever so you get more of the soft shaggy coat that comes from the Golden Retriever and not all poodle coat. Average size is medium between a Golden and a Miniature Poodle, about 20-40+ lbs est.

F1B is for that more non shedding coat. All our F1B's will be miniature or small medium in size .. about 18-33 lbs..

We only offer cream, apricot/reddish and golden tinted Doodle colors which are the more common colors in a Golden Retriever coat. We do not breed party colors nor dark blacks or brown colors not consistent with a Golden Retriever color.

To better explain our sizes, here are some general guidelines for you:

~ Our F1 is a True First Generation.
F1 Medium/Miniature GoldenDoodles are called that because of breeding a 'Miniature' Poodle as apposed to a Standard Poodle. Puppies can range from an average of about 20-40+ pounds within the same litter. Puppies from the same litter can differ in size as well as coat color and type. The size varies because the F1 breeding is using a AKC purebred Golden Retriever that is about 51-63 lbs and an AKC purebred Miniature Poodle that is about is 11 to 17 lbs. Puppies from that breeding are then in the average range from 20-45 lbs. All parents are health tested.

~Our F1B Miniature Goldendoodles are bred using one of Golden Acres F1 Medium/Miniature Goldendoodle moms and bred back with our apricot/red Miniature Poodle stud. The size of the puppies from this litter will be an average of the two parents. One of our Moms, 19-33 lbs bred with 17 lbs Dad. F1B puppies are considered more non shedding.

~ Our AKC Golden Retrievers are bred with AKC confirmation, health certifications, temperment, and training in mind and are 51-80 pounds depending on sex and parents. All parents are health tested.

Each litter pairing will produce multiple size range. Some litters will span the minimum and maximum size ranges.

More about puppies

Golden Retrievers and Poodles are considered the most highly intelligent breeds to be found. Goldendoodles are very social, loving dogs that thanks to their high intellect are very easy to train. They make the perfect family pet or service companion to anyone with disabilities with proper training. We hear time after time how our puppies have enriched their lives and adapt to the different needs of the people in the family. Our goal is to produce healthy, well adjusted puppies that will be a loving companion for many, many years. Of course, training is extremely important to have a well mannered dog in any family. If you choose NOT to do the training required then it’s very difficult to have the outcome you desire.

Breeding is not a hobby for me, it is my passion and love .  I take breeding very seriously.   Our parents all have wonderful, gentle, and very loving temperaments, plus all the complete health certifications done.  Many have CGC titles and others going on into competition at AKC obedience trials & Rally.

We are very proud of the structure and coats we have been able to achieve with our Goldendoodles! It’s important to know that no two Goldendoodles are alike. As I’m sure you have seen, many Doodles can have wiry, straggly, or rough coats and pointy noses, many look just like Poodles. We have been able to consistently achieve very nice builds with amazing plush soft coats. But even litter mates can differ widely.

We stand behind our exceptional dogs and offer a  two year limited GENETICS health warranty on all of our puppies.

All of our Goldendoodle parents, Miniature Poodle parents and Golden Retriever parents are raised in loving homes, either here with us, with family, or in the homes of our approved guardian families. We do NOT have kennels, we don’t believe in raising dogs in any other situation than in our homes as members of our family. If you live in the Spokane region and are interested in possibly being a guardian home, our Guardian Page will tell you more. Our dogs have all the love they can handle and sleep in our rooms and on our beds. It is shown that temperament can indeed be passed down to puppies from their parents and we firmly believe that home raised dogs that are a valuable part of a loving family are totally ready at pick up date to be loved by their new family.

All of our puppies are handled daily from birth and given loads of love, cuddling and positive stimulation.  When they are old enough, usually at 5+ weeks of age, they spend time in other parts of the house as well as outside (weather permitting),  adjusting to life with lots of fun, activity and a variety of different noises.   None of our dogs or puppies are EVER kept in a kennel, basement,  barn or left outside.  Our puppies are born and raised in our home (puppy room) until they go home to you.

We practice "Early Neural Stimulation" techniques on all of our puppies!     This is essential and very important ingredient in achieving a well balanced, socialized puppy.

Your puppy will be microchipped before leaving for his/her new home and will come with the enrollment registration form.  This microchip is easily read by any vet or animal control agency and is an essential part of returning your dog if he or she is ever lost or stolen!

Your puppy will seen by our Veterinarian for a thorough check-up before being released to you with their first puppy shot done.

Your puppy will have multiple de-wormings done before going home.

The happiness of our families as well as our puppies is very important to us.  See what Golden Acres does to help you before and after your puppy arrives in your home!  We do our best to help make sure that each family gets a puppy that fits their families needs.  We let our families choose their puppies in the order of how they have reserved a spot with a deposit.  We do not decide on which puppy we feel is best for your family as some other breeders do.  We feel that this is a very personal decision that no one should take away from you.   We offer all the help you need in making your selection.   Please go to our PRICES page for more information on our allocation process and picking out your puppy.

It used to be that purchasing a pup over the internet was always from a broker or mill, but that has changed now that most businesses are found on the web so it is super important to do your homework and make sure that you are working with a professional reputable breeder that loves and cares for their puppies.   We think that we have made it easy for you to see how we care about what we do.  Breeders should always be open to home visits if you have a reservation.

** Please note that we are not affiliated nor do we sell to any  Puppy Brokers nor advertise on their sites.  It is well known that puppies purchased from puppy broker sites are almost always from puppy mills.  Their puppy mill operations can be very well disguised through these sites and even sites of their own.  A quality, reputable breeder does not have trouble selling their own puppies and will never use a broker.

If your looking for a friendly breeder to help find the right puppy to be included in your family then I hope you'll give Golden Acres a call.   Happily serving families since 1994.  For more information about the history of Golden Acres please check out the ABOUT US page.
